Turn on Face ID for iPhone

Face ID for iPhone adds an extra layer of protection to your budget. When enabled, a facial scan is required to unlock the Goodbudget app on your iPhone. Additionally, when enabled, your budget is hidden when you switch between apps.

How to turn Face ID on

  1. Tap More > Face ID
  2. Toggle Unlock with Face ID to the on position
  3. Tap Allow when prompted to Allow “Goodbudget” to use Face ID?
    1. Note: If Face ID is not enabled globally on your iPhone, you’ll be prompted to go to your iPhone Settings app to set up Face ID for your device.
  4. Face ID will be enabled after your face is scanned to confirm your biometrics

How to turn Face ID off

  1. Tap More > Face ID
  2. Toggle Unlock with Face ID to the off position

Q: I can’t turn Face ID on in the Goodbudget app. What am I doing wrong?

If the toggle won’t move to the ‘on’ position, you may need to give express permission for Goodbudget to use Face ID in your iPhone Settings app. 

  • Open the iPhone Settings app
  • Search Face ID & Passcode
  • Tap Other Apps
  • Set the toggle next to Goodbudget to the on position
