Your budget period is the recurrence that you set your budget to start on. We recommend setting your budget period to match the day you receive your income. Most people have a budget period that starts on the 1st of the month and we recommend that budget period if you have multiple or variable incomes.
Here’s how you can change your budget period:
On the Web
You can change your budget period on the web by clicking on the Add/Edit button in the Envelopes tab. This will take you to the Edit Envelopes page and at the top, you can click on the drop-down that says “Monthly” by default to choose a different budgeting period and when it starts.
First, head to the Envelopes tab, then tap on Edit in the top left corner. Next, tap on the ‘I Budget’ bar at the bottom to select your new budget period and start date. Be sure to save your changes when you’re finished.
To get started, tap on the Overflow Menu (those three vertical dots), and then on Edit Envelopes. Next, tap on the Monthly drop down arrow at the top to select your new budget period and start date. Don’t forget to save your changes when you’re finished.
Note that changing your budget period will not change when your Envelopes get refilled. You’ll need to edit your Scheduled Fill to change the day they are auto-filled.
