Note for couples: Share your reflections with each other. You may have had very different experiences, and that is totally okay. Start with listening and learning about the other person. Then imagine together — how might your giving patterns make space for your unique styles and passions, as well as your common causes?

I relate to Chi-En’s story about an unexpected giving opportunity coming up and rearranging money in my envelopes to be able to give to that cause. It felt good to be able to have that flexibility to see where I had extra money and make a change based on what was important to me!
It made me excited to give.
I have done that in the past and while it does throw other finances off its exciting to help and do what you can
