Each year, the federal government spends countless hours drafting, proposing, and approving a single budget that keeps the US running. It makes sense that it takes such a long time; creating a budget for an entire country is no small feat.
We’re running households, not countries, so we probably don’t need to spend the same amount of time and effort on our own personal budgets. But there are still a few things we can learn from the US federal budget process that will help us make our own.
